Later needlework and embroidery provided employment for Nantucket Women. Several businesses began as a result and the evolution birthed new opportunities. Nantucket’s leaders in textile and needle arts, all played roles in establishing needlework on Nantucket for the modern era. The Nantucket Needlery, The Nantucket Cloth Company, The Nantucket Looms, as well as Erica Wilson are a few of the names recognized today in this movement.
