Transferware

View the current schedule

Transferware developed in the 1750’s  has long been the method of surface decoration for ceramic pieces of pictoral images and sayings.   Transfers were applied to plates, platters, jugs, and tea sets making decorated ceramic less expensive and accessible.  Today the process is still in use and updated with new technologies.

The NHA preserves, interprets, and shares the diverse stories of Nantucket and its people with all audiences through its collections, properties, programs, and research.
