What a View!

Nantucket Through the Stereoscope

Stereographs, an early form of three-dimensional photographs, were a major vehicle for popular education and entertainment in the latter part of the nineteenth century. Displaying highlights from the NHA’s collection of over 700 stereographs, this exhibition explores both traditional and modern viewing techniques of this early 3D technology.

The NHA preserves, interprets, and shares the diverse stories of Nantucket and its people with all audiences through its collections, properties, programs, and research.
